Red and yellow tomato salad with burrata, basil and cured ham

Burrata, tomato and cured ham salad: assemble and serve

Juicy tomatoes meet creamy burrata. Drain the cheese and assemble each plate just before eating so the salad stays balanced rather than watery. Add the ham last, without cooking it.

  • 600 g red and yellow tomatoes
  • 250 g burrata (for example, two 125 g balls)
  • 80 g sliced cured ham
  • A few fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Pepper and salt only if needed

Step-by-step method

  1. Wash the tomatoes and basil under running water and dry them. Cut the tomatoes into wedges, removing only the tough stalk attachment.
  2. Drain the burrata gently. Divide the tomatoes between four plates and split the cheese into four portions, keeping its creamy centre.
  3. Add the ham in small folds and scatter over the basil. Divide the oil between the plates and add pepper. Taste before adding salt and serve immediately.

Adapt the recipe to your kitchen

An acidic dressing is unnecessary: the tomatoes already provide acidity. Leave excess tomato juices on the board instead of tipping them onto the plates.

Contains milk. Keep burrata refrigerated and follow its label and the ham label after opening. Make only the portions you will serve; if cutting tomatoes ahead, refrigerate them separately.
