Paleta in Saint-Étienne: Duroc or Iberico for a first purchase

Choosing a shoulder ham for home slicing in Saint-Étienne starts with two decisions: which product you want, and who will slice it. Gran Reserva Duroc and Paleta Ibérica de Cebo offer whole-piece and slicing options, but they are different categories.

Duroc does not mean Iberico

The first product is sold as Gran Reserva Duroc, not Iberico. The second is Paleta Ibérica de Cebo. We do not add a breed percentage absent from its product information. Both are foreleg shoulder hams; changing the slicing service does not turn them into hind-leg jamón.

Match the service before comparing

Compare whole piece with whole piece for the starting budget. If you want it sliced, choose machine slicing on both or knife slicing on both. A starting price does not automatically include slicing, and a whole-piece service is not a ready-packed 80 g sachet.

Plan for a bone-in piece

Consider whether you have a ham stand, suitable tools and space to use them. If you would rather avoid slicing at home, review the slicing service before deciding. Bone-in piece weight is not net sliced meat, so it cannot be converted into guaranteed portions.
