A soft slice alone cannot diagnose insufficient curing. The area, fat, temperature and format matter. If something seems wrong, do not try to fix it with heat or extra days: collect the product details.
If uncertain, stop eating, store according to the label and contact the seller with photos and lot details. Do not taste-test safety or cure a doubtful piece at home.
Separate an impression from a problem
Describe the observation: a soft area, excess moisture, changed smell or damaged pack. A photo and colour do not establish safety or curing duration. If smell, packaging or texture is abnormal, stop serving while seeking an assessment.
Review receipt and storage
Read designation, lot, date and instructions. A whole ham and an opened sliced pack need different care. Check storage and opening time; do not invent a general shelf life from another ham or change temperature to harden it.

Photograph label, packaging and affected area in normal light. State receipt, opening and storage details, and whether the whole piece or one area is affected. Contact the seller for assessment and the next step; no particular commercial remedy can be promised without reviewing the order.

What to avoid
Do not dry ham in sunlight, beside a radiator or in an oven. Do not add salt or attempt home curing: professional production needs controls. If confirmed suitable but not to your texture preference, ask about another format for future purchases without blaming a whole category.
